1.This week on Totes Awesome Channel, we are vlogging about things we have stopped apologizing for. Youtube Link What have you stopped apologizing for? 2.Alan’s birthday is coming up next month. I am going to give him 28 gifts for his 28th birthday. I only have about 5 figured out so far since I just decided last night. I’m going to present him one gift for the next 28 days. (His birthday is 23 days away so too bad I didn’t figure this out 5 days ago!) Today’s gift is 28 free passes for taking out Bob. We bicker about it and often play Rock, Paper, Scissors. (Bob drinks a LOT and goes out every 1-2 hours sometimes.) I drew him a counter to keep track of his passes and tacked it on our fridge. 3.Speaking of birthdays, I received my birthday surprise from Kim this week! She always sends the best gifts and notes. We plan on going to Paris for her 30th in February and she is setting the mood! 4.On my life list for years is to maintain an herb garden. I saw basil and lavender were on sale at the grocery store so I made a leap of faith. I posted optimistically about my little basil and lavender plants on Instagram and a couple of people have left comments about how basil is so easy. And really, I thought so too! My mom has a garden in Houston that includes a patch of basil, and if she can keep her herbs and vegetables thriving in Houston heat, I got this! Wrong. There has been so much drama with my basil! On Day 3 it looked all wilted so the people of Twitter suggested more shade and more water. I did as advised and on Day 4 it looked more lively. Yesterday was Day 6 and it was dark and rained all day so I don’t think Basil liked that. 5.The Sketchbook Project is currently in Austin for the week! I’m going to browse through some books today and see my own for a little bit. If you guys are in the neighborhood you can check mine out under “CuriousNotions”. 6.I have a lot of happy dreams about food. One of my favorite was just someone feeding me a spoon of melted chocolate repeatedly. Awesome dream right? This morning I had my first food related bad dream. I dreamt that I was on a food tour and that they served bone marrow, which is only one of my favorite foods. While I was busy trying to take a photo of the bone marrow, my eating companions ate all the bone marrow! Some of them had seconds and thirds! Heaping mouthfuls! This was not an ideal dream to start off my Friday. 7.This week’s moments of bliss: ♥ happy updates from Treavor while he was on vacation ♥ getting some money back from the gas company ♥ bubble tea date with Brittany ♥ BDF is visiting so very soon ♥ getting tickets to a chocolate festival in Seattle ♥ Sketchbook Project date tonight! ♥ Alan being a good sport about mediocre new recipes ♥ the birthday package from Kim ♥ time to run errands at lunch (at my previous place of work, it took 40 minutes just to walk to and from your car!) ♥ getting to know the folks at the new job ♥ cooler weather ♥ this photo of Bob and his lady friend Question: What was the best birthday gift you have received? |
