I almost missed yesterday’s post for National Blog Posting Month because I didn’t anticipate an after party gathering at a bar after a bowling event. My previous workplace hosted a leaving party for me. You know, I spent three years with these kids and didn’t realize how much I’ve missed everyone til actually seeing them again. The European scientist gave me another dancing video to Youtube.

I started Christmas shopping! I can’t wait to cross everyone off my list. I’m really looking forward to refocusing on my financial goals and feel like I can really dig in after I get the Christmas shopping out of the way. I’d like to stop procrastinating on my retirement savings and also start aggressively tackling my student loans. I am newly motivated after reading Ashley’s new e-book, A Story of Debt. You can get the Kindle version on Amazon or a free PDF download here.

AT&T and Isis have given me a pretty neat opportunity where they provide me a Galaxy 3 phone with Isis downloaded so that I test it and honestly write about it. Isis is a wallet app that you can preload with cash and it works as a debit card. Instead of sliding a card, you can hold your phone up to the credit card machine at vendors with equipment supporting Isis. Isis is test launching in Austin and it is exciting to be one of the first people to use it. Unfortunately, the vendors could use better training on how to use Isis as I’ve been met with a few blank stares when I tried to pay. When it did work however, it was fun to just simply hold your phone over the machine and not have to fumble with your cards. I’m looking forward to seeing something like this take off!

Are you curious about the states of Texas? This guy made me giggle explaining the demographics of Texas.
