This was my first week back from Spain and it’s been a doozy of a week. My calendar is brimming and my email inbox is a beast that needs to be tamed. Expect some posts next week about my trip. I started posting on my food blog. You can see the first post listed under my personal plugs in this week’s list of things that made me feel things. I’m heading to Houston after work today to visit my parents and also to pick up Bob the dog. They’ve been babysitting him so we could travel. I’ve missed him! What are you doing this weekend?
And some good (and adorable) news in the news!
Interesting read about Chinese food and inauthentic cooking.
Journal prompts from Joy the Baker.
My friend has been crocheting little super heroes and dropping them off at ComiCon for years. I love that she has repeat finders! Read her latest recap here.

Why you should let yourself be photographed even if you don’t like how you look.
Do your friends actually like you?

“Find a new city.”
Advice for young writers.
I read Fates and Furies while in Barcelona. I found myself relishing subway rides so I could whip it out and continue reading!
I also started Men We Reaped in Barcelona. Finished it this week and it’s relevant and maybe even essential reading.
Speaking of essential reading, I also finished Lindy West’s Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman. I loved the biting. polemic style. She takes on fat shaming and rape jokes.
I’m in the reading zone and also started Truth and Beauty and am already enthralled after just one chapter.
