 1.I’m in Boston! Got in last night. Will be back to my regular Austin schedule starting Wednesday! 2.This is the view I woke up to this morning.  3.I’m loving my BFF’s new house. She bought it last year but I haven’t been up in two years. There’s a room that used to be a little boy’s room. He measured the height of his toys on his wall.  4.So I was getting off the plane for a 3 hour layover in Kansas City, Missouri yesterday and was heading to the bathroom when I heard my name. It’s always a little disorienting when you’re on new soil (“soil”, how’s that for a theatrical flair?), and someone’s calling for you by name. You half expect it to be someone else with your name and you kind of do a discrete visual scan, just in case it’s not really you they’re addressing. I turn around indiscreetly and luckily the person was talking to me. It took me a few seconds but I finally placed him in my memory. This guy and I went on a few casual dates years ago. How’s that for a coincidental run in? He was on a layover as well and he kept me company till he had to board his plane. It was kind of neat to talk to someone for the first time in years and see where life has taken them. 5.I may have to do a separate recap of the canoe trip to encapsulate things like snakes and tip overs and rapids. Suffice to say, I survived, it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting it to be, and I even had fun. 6.Breakfast this morning.  7.This week’s moments of bliss: ♥ date night at Dave and Busters ♥ beating Alan at Pacman ♥ hazelnut cookies ♥ surviving a canoe trip ♥ Thor ♥ airplane reading ♥ airplane conversations ♥ airplane naps ♥ first meal in Boston being obligatory hot pot ♥ chocolate banana bread pudding for breakfast ♥ I’m HERE with BFF in Boston Question: What’s the obligatory stop for you in your hometown? |
