Friday 7 Quick Takes (vol 64)

1.

This week on Totes Awesome Channel, we talk about impulsive shopping.

For those who can’t view the video, I talk about how 2011 has been a bad year for saving. I used to save 10-15 percent of every paycheck but haven’t done so this year. For the first five months of the year, I’ve lived pretty much at my means. The last 3 months with the moving into a more expensive apartment, furniture buying, trips, birthdays and weddings, and getting a dog, I’ve exceeded my means and have been dipping into my savings. I’m on a strict no spending diet but before this diet, I did most of my splurging on food.

Remember how I told you Bob peed in his bed as I tried to make him face his fears? We couldn’t save the bed but we were able to save the cushion.
\

We need to buy him a new bed. Poor thing.

3.

Last night, I had the apartment to myself which meant I had the TV to myself! I was granted a reprieve from football! Glorious night. I spent it catching up on my Oprah’s Life Classes by watching 2 episodes. Then I watched Miss Representation. You must watch the trailer.

Miss Representation is a documentary about the misrepresentation of women in the media and politics and the serious repercussions of the misrepresentation. It is a very compelling and sobering documentary and frankly, I’m still digesting all the information and statistics. I urge you to go to the website to look up a screening.

I was going to post this as part of my standing Take 7, listing out the happy moments of the week, but I think this picture deserves it’s own spot. What do you think?

A gift posted on my Facebook wall from my dear friend, Kim.

National Blog Posting Month is around the corner. To participate, one just simply posts every day on her blog for the month of November. My first time was last year and it was a doozy of a feat. I’m hoping to succeed this year as well. Last year, I just came up with posts on the cuff. This year, I’ve started a list of possible blog posts ideas. Any post ideas you can throw my way? I’d really appreciate it.

So let’s see. My September was dedicated towards sleep. In October I’m grudgingly trying to bring more organization into my life. November is National Blog Posting Month. Guess what December’s going to be.

Do-It-Yourself December!

I know. I’m all cheese.
