Final 2011 New Year’s Resolutions Progress Report

Ah, it’s my final progress report for 2011! How exciting. I have no idea what my 2012 resolutions will be but I had a lot of fun cooking Vietnamese food and trying my hand on sewing. The 41 books were fun too.

Personal Finance

  • Reach $2,000 in my Vietnam fund. As of today, the balance is $ 1,796.26. I’m at 90% completion. YES! That’s an A. So I should rename this goal for next year. It’s really a vacation gift fund for my parents. They haven’t vacationed for over 20 years. They work every single day of the year. I thought whenever they’re ready, I could gift them some airline tickets for an international trip. I thought they would have liked to go back to Vietnam. I was mistaken! They’re actually pretty done with Vietnam. Though this breaks my heart, that is neither here nor there. The point is, this goal will be reworded for next year.

  • Max out my Roth IRA. I contributed $475 for 2011. Uh, only at 9.5% completion.
      F!
  • Make $3,000 extra income outside my full-time job. As of today I’m at $1858 which translates to 61%. Grade of D, which does not earn degrees.

Leisure

  • Complete 10 sewing learning tasks. 10/10. This was a fun resolution. I made 3 couch cushions last week! I can also confidently without my mom hovering, patch holes and sew on buttons.
  • Publish three food blogs a week. I had almost a 2 month streak! Sadly #NaBloPoMo derailed me in November. I give myself a F.

  • Try to make 10 Vietnamese recipes. 10/10.

  • Try to make 10 slow cook recipes. 10/10.

  • Visit two new states. Visited three new states!

  • Have a new experience once a week. This is almost a cheater goal as I’ve been doing this for 5 years and it has become habit. Last night, I ate toasted meal worms.

  • Visit best friend in Boston.

  • Take a trip with Alan.

  • Leave the country.

  • Read 40 books. 41/40. That was fun!

Relationships and Well-Being

  • Drink 24 oz of water every day. I give myself a C.

  • Have an active date with a friend twice a month. Have been exceeding twice a month!

  • Donate to every sponsorship for charity my friends take part in.

  • Start a shared gratitude journal with my little from Big Brothers & Big Sisters of America. F!

  • Run a 5K for charity. I mostly walked but I’m counting it as completed.
