I love stories about neat coincidences. For example, I love telling people about the two friends I have named Will C. and Willis C. (their surnames are different by only a letter) who don’t know each other. They have birthdays within days of each other and their phone numbers consist of only 2 numbers and they are the same numbers!

Well here’s another funny coincidence that happened this week:

An old friend I haven’t seen or spoken to in years signed my Facebook wall and told me he met my mom. My immediate reaction was he must have gotten the wrong Linda. There are many Lindas with my surname. I messaged him and it turns out, his friend took him to my parents’ convenience store where he saw a photo of me behind the counter. How neat is that?

3.

Alan’s in Vegas this weekend for yet another bachelor party. (His second Vegas bachelor party in 3 months!) I scheduled some dinner dates and am hosting a sleepover for my friend, Naz. I also plan on going to a cake event, eating with my little (Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America), and seeing Cindy on Sunday. It will be a great weekend.

4.

I finished catching up on Mad Men this week. As I watched the show I emailed or texted Kim my reactions. This was part of our conversation about the Season 4 finale. It went on for longer than this and cracks me up. It reminds me of the “Sweet” and “Dude” scene in Dude, Where’s My Car?

5.

Any dog owners have advice on how to brush your dog’s teeth? Bob’s not having it. In fact, I think he was trying to send me a message when he did this:

6.

If everything works out, I get to volunteer as a cake show judge for Austin’s 8th Annual That Takes the Cake competition. I’m ecstatic about this opportunity; I’ve never been a food judge but it’s been one of my little dreams.
