I’ve made a lot of headway in my learning of how to use and operate my DSLR with a lot of support and guidance from my friends Hung and Thomas. Hung gives me these amazing lessons on the daily and every day a few things click! Literally and figuratively, of course. My favorite shot from this week was Bobby and his eyes.

You can follow along on the daily on my tumblr, 30 by 12.

Tomorrow I’m dragging a sleepy boyfriend and dog out of bed earlyish to board one and go to Texas State Fair in Dallas with the other. It’s going to be a really long ride to Dallas considering construction and one of the biggest UT football game of the season, OU weekend. The last time I went to the State Fair it was also on OU weekend and the traffic is infamous. But fried foods await us. I’m willing to go the distance for food. My mission this weekend is to put fried nutella, a fried latte, and fried butter in my mouht. Wish me luck!

Anita and I had a girly movie date watching an early screening of About Time, yet another time travel movie with Rachel McAdams. I couldn’t stomach her first one but this was adorable and optimistic.

5.

I received heartbreaking news of the death of an inspiring friend, MaryAnne last week. She finally succumbed to leukemia after suffering for too long. She passed a year and a day since I last saw her in Seattle and I won’t ever forget her. I was already fundraising for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in her honor and continue to do so in her memory. I would really appreciate your support, even if you could only spare five dollars.

Currently still reading: Daily Rituals: How Artists Work

Reoccurring themes from Daily Rituals which is a book cataloging the daily rituals of famous artists: Live in Paris, wake up early, eliminate a lot of decisions by setting routines, do the work

This week’s moments of bliss: ♥ one of best friends is working at my office and living in the same town! ♥ movie date with Anita ♥ Bobby cuddles ♥ having tacos for five meals this week ♥ slowly getting back to reading after a couple of off weeks ♥ catching up slowly on letter writing ♥ happy hours at work ♥ making the perfect Bo Luc Lac (Vietnamese Shaken Beef) ♥ feeling virtuous when I start my day off with a fruit and veggie smoothie (before negating it throughout the day) ♥ finishing an allergy study ♥ great lunch time company

Question: If you could relive a day, what day would that be?
