Modus Operandi

Ask every person you’re seeking customer service from how he or she is doing. This is positively reinforced every time a pair of tired eyes light up because someone sees him or her as human and not as means to an end.

Never speak down to someone. If they are coming from a place of ignorance, speaking down to them only shames them and teaches them not to seek knowledge for fear of shame. The world needs to be more informed. We need to be both teacher and student. Students, ask stupid questions. Teachers, empower your students.

See the glass as half full. Being optimistic is scientifically better for your health and performance. Enjoy the sunrise and sunsets even if you’re stuck in traffic. Be critical of how you spend your energy. Surround yourself with people who uplift you and support you. If your peers try to put out your light, find new peers.

Never stop reading and learning. Welcome failure. Laugh at yourself. Never stop creating. Try something. Try again.

Take care of yourself. You cannot care for others if you are running on empty. Be able to verbalize what it is you want. Now speak your wishes out loud.

You might die tonight. Your loved ones can be taken away any time. Let this motivate your actions with how you spend your leisure time. Let this motivate your actions within your relationships.
