Hello friends! I hope and trust you are well. I’ve been trucking along attending events and working small gigs. I want to be better at using my down time to blog more both here and on my food blog! It’s just that Netflix and bubble baths are so enticing. You can follow my daily antics on my instagram. What are your antics as of late? What did you have for lunch yesterday? Dinner? Tell me in the comments!
Here’s this week’s links that made me feel feelings.
Hello! I haven’t done a Friday Feels in a while. It’s just been kind of depressing out in the world lately and I don’t find myself meandering on the internet as much. But I’m here now with this latest installment of things from the internet that made me feel things. Are you up to anything fun this weekend? Tell me in the comments! I’m heading to Lake Charles, Louisiana for Mardi Gras with Austin Food Magazine.
That photo above is from a coffee date I had with a friend this week and we each brought the same notebook. I delighted in that coincidence and had to boomerang it. Happy Holidays, all! I’m heading to Arkansas for the weekend to stay with Sugarface’s family. I can’t wait to take some time off to spend with lovely humans and dogs. What about you? Are you traveling anywhere?
Here’s this year’s last Friday Feels, a round up of links that made me feel things.
Hello friends! Happy almost November! Are you ready for November? Are you panicking like I am? I had so much I wanted to do this year and still a lot of it left to accomplish! Oy. So this weekend I plan on catching my breath with Sugarface and doing something that makes us happy. Maybe a hike with the dogs? And I have a barbecue festival to attend. The joys of being a food blogger! What do you have going on this weekend? What have you been reading?
It’s been a bit since my last link round-up of Internet pieces that made me feel feelings. Some of these links I’ve had in my pocket for a few weeks. Enjoy and happy Friyay!
Welcome to fall everyone! This weekend I’m hanging out with Sugarface and his mom at Austin City Limits. I haven’t been to ACL in 9 years; so I’m excited to enjoy the cooler weather outside with a couple of my favorite humans. Here’s this week’s list of links that made me feel things. How are you spending your weekend? What have you been reading and watching?
Hello! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve shared some of my internet finds that made me feel feelings. The last couple of weeks have been a bit busy work wise for me. Is it just me or is this year going by so fast? Is this just a sign of being older? The acute realization that there will never be enough time? Well, I hope you take some time this weekend to breathe and look at your life with gratitude. Enjoy this week’s Friday Feels!
This was my first week back from Spain and it’s been a doozy of a week. My calendar is brimming and my email inbox is a beast that needs to be tamed. Expect some posts next week about my trip. I started posting on my food blog. You can see the first post listed under my personal plugs in this week’s list of things that made me feel things. I’m heading to Houston after work today to visit my parents and also to pick up Bob the dog. They’ve been babysitting him so we could travel. I’ve missed him! What are you doing this weekend?
Happy Friday everyone! I had a great week and felt loved. It was my birthday week and I shared my birthday with one of my puppies, Neva. She turned 3 and I turned 33. I loved spoiling her yesterday and she might be hungover on joy today, wondering where all her special treatment went!
Please enjoy the links that made me feel things this week! Tell me what you’re doing this weekend!
And that’s a wrap on the work week! I spent a lot of it in the car driving to events during rush hour and to a friend’s house to help him with his yard while he’s on vacation. I’m looking forward to a slower weekend with more time on the couch. Maybe with the two books I’m reading. But first, I’m excited about a double date tonight with lovely people! I plan on asking them how they feel about eating dessert first.
Here’s this week’s list of links that made me feel feelings. Hope you enjoy! Tell me what you’re up to in the comments!
I loved this longish read about David Chang’s philosophy on deliciousness. He applies what I already believe about life to his food. The sweet spot of life is somewhere between the excitement of novelty, to remind you of what’s out there to explore, and the comfort of the familiar, to ground you in the blessings you already have or had experienced.
This week was unrelenting with terrible news. I’m hoping you find some peace in the company of your loved ones. I’m looking forward to seeing my family in Houston, with pup in tow. I will keep Martin Luther King’s words close. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.”
Here are this week’s links that made me feel things.
I’m almost done with Season 2 of Orange is the New Black. I hear Season 4 is amazing and heartbreaking. Here are some OINB facts.
I am so behind in my reading but had two 8 hour car rides where Sugarface drove. I finished three books! I thought A Tale for the Time Being was a great read though a bit dark. I enjoyed The End of a Story but I don’t think I’d recommend it to just anyone. It’s a slow read with no real plot. I read M Train because my friend Ashley said Patti Smith wrote about the show The Killing extensively.
Can’t wait to read this book. A new one from one of favorite contemporary philosopher, Alain de Botton.
I like that my friends send me Alain de Botton links. I enjoyed this podcast episode where he talks about relationships and sex. Thanks Treavor for the link!
“It’s a weird thing that some of our worst behavior in relationships is driven by some touching things… But of course we look so revolting that the other person is not in the position [to be sympathetic].”
